Zgate controls and archives email communications across the enterprise by working as a gateway, filtering messages traffic. The software analyzes the contents of all message fields, including the body and file attachments, ensuring that corporate information remains secure. The system’s message processing flow is based on internally developed rules engine, which evaluates message contents using morphological and stemming analysis, enabling information security officers to quickly identify and handle potential security incidents. Additionally, the system is easily integrated with external third-party modules for other email checks, such as anti-spam and anti-virus programs.

Architecture Overview

Zgate does not depend on organization’s mail server’s manufacturing model or version deployed, making it an attractive option for mid- and large email system installations. Some of the mail servers that Zgate is easily configured to work with include Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Notes, Sendmail, Postfix, and others.

Zgate Server

Zgate Server runs as a system service, providing all core functionality. The server can be installed on the mail server or on any other computer, providing the following tasks:
• Receiving and transmitting messages;
• Processing messages contents;
• Archiving and quarantining messages;
• Maintaining support of the Zgate remote management
When sending messages outside of the network, Zgate Server can forward processed messages to the company’s existing outgoing messages proxy server, or use its own internal mail delivery server to connect to the recipients’ mail servers directly.

Zconsole (Management Console)

Zgate is closely integrated with other Zecurion products. As such, the server remote management can be performed from any network computer where Zconsole is installed. The management console is used to configure, maintain and monitor all Zgate Server activities, effectively eliminating the need to learn and use multiple GUIs for different data security products.

Zgate Log Server

Log Server is a Zgate component that provides centralized repository and the log processing facility for Zgate system events. The Log Server can create and store the system logs in MS SQL Server or XML files.
